MANILA, Philippines: Filipino cue artist Carlo Biado captured the 2024 WPA Predator World 10-Ball Championships title at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday, March 3 (Manila time).

Biado defeated Japanese Naoyuki Oi in the first to three racks final, 3-1 (4-1, 3-4, 4-2, 4-1) to also bag the top prize of $75,000, or about P4.2 million

In the semifinal, Biado stopped world no. 2 Fedor Gorst of the United States to barge to the final and set up his championship parade.

"It's overwhelming. I'm very very happy that I won this match. I finally got the World 10-Ball championship," said Biado in the post-match interview.

"When I heard that national anthem, it felt like [crying] tears of joy. I finally won the championship," he added.

The 40-year-Biado thus gained his second world title after ruling the 9-ball title seven years ago.
