By Manila Times - 7 months ago

2GO Group Inc., SM Investments Corp.'s logistics subsidiary, has teamed up with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to assist online entrepreneurs in Region 3 (Central Luzon).

The company, along with the DTI-Region 3 office, have organized a series of workshops to empower small businesses with knowledge in electronic commerce (e-commerce) and digital marketing to help them maximize sales potential.

2GO President and Chief Executive Officer Frederic DyBuncio said on Tuesday that their commitment to boosting local micro, small and medium enterprises extended beyond business.

"[I]t's about fueling dreams, building connections, and ultimately, creating a better life," he said in a statement.

"By supporting homegrown enterprises, we're investing in innovation, creating opportunities and laying a platform toward inclusive and sustainable economic growth that benefits local communities and, hopefully, the nation as a whole," DyBuncio added.

Through the initiative, 2GO said participants also gained insights on how to establish an online presence and understand the role of shipping and delivery services.

Warren Patrick Serrano, DTI-Region 3 division chief, highlighted the importance of the workshop in keeping small entrepreneurs updated on the latest trends and techniques in product marketing.

"Partnering with a trusted logistics solutions provider is equally vital, as it helps ensure secure and reliable product delivery for seamless expansion and establishing a strong business foundation," he noted.

Blessie Cruz, 2GO Retail business unit head, emphasized that their primary goal is to support their partners' operations and promote "seamless" trade between regions.

"As a logistics solutions provider, we perceive ourselves as facilitators for businesses, regardless of their size. Our role extends beyond merely moving goods; it involves fostering increased trade between regions," she added.

"Positioned as a digital retail enabler, we seamlessly manage the movement of goods, facilitating successful transitions from online to offline purchases," Cruz said.

The company currently has nearly 200 outlets in Region 3, including in SM business centers in major SM malls.
