MANILA, Philippines: Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala has clinched her ticket to the quarterfinals of the women's singles at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) W75 tournament in Porto, Portugal on Thursday.

Eala defeated Katarina Zavatska of Ukraine in two sets, 6-0, 6-3 in the round of 16 on Thursday.

She will be facing off against 2nd seed Anna Bondár of Hungary on Friday in the women's singles quarterfinals.

In the doubles quarterfinals, however, Eala and British partner Ali Collins were ousted from the tournament by the German-British duo of Anna-Lisa Friedsam and Alicia Barnett in two sets, 6-3, 6-4.
