CITY OF MALOLOS: Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando extended a helping hand to 641 fisherfolk in the province through the Provincial Agriculture Office.
The distribution of livelihood assistance was held at the Bulacan Polytechnic College Covered Court here on Wednesday, January 24.
A total of 483 gillnets, 108 coolers and 50 marine engines were distributed to the Bulakenyo fisherfolk from the municipalities of Bulakan, Calumpit, Hagonoy, Obando, Paombong, and the City of Malolos.
Fernando said the fisherfolk have contributed to the economic progress of the province and the distribution of livelihood assistance is crucial to the advancement of the fishing communities.
The governor added that the fishing sector is an integral part of the community because it helps bring food to the table and contribute to the economy.
