(UPDATE) CHERY Tiggo Crossovers middle hitter Aby Maraño praised her countryman and former Crossover Alyja "Jaja" Santiago for making an impact in Japan.
The former F2 Logistics Cargo Movers captain on Thursday shared a post on Santiago's progress with JT Marvelous of Japan V.League 1, where the latter led in the attacking and blocking departments.
Santiago also has the most aces in the league with 13 aces and is ranked 19th in scoring with 178 points.
"She's the one and only GOAT (greatest of all time), Philippine pride Jaja Santiago," Maraño wrote. "Padayon lang, Jajing."
Maraño is gearing up for the upcoming PVL season with the Crossovers, after a career with the now-disbanded Cargo Movers.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University-Diliman secured the second spot in the UAAP Season 86 High School Girls' Volleyball Tournament Final Four following a 25-10, 25-10, 25-10 domination of University of the Philippines Integrated School at the Adamson Gym in Ermita, Manila.
The victory allowed the Lady Baby Tamaraws, who are now at 7-3, to join the league leaders Adamson University in the next round.
Adamson University extended its streak to 10 this season and moved two wins away from gaining an outright Finals berth with a quick work of also-ran Ateneo, 25-6, 25-12, 25-5.
