Sectarian violence in northwest Pakistan has resulted in 13 additional deaths, bringing the total to 124. The conflict began when Shiite Muslim convoys were ambushed, triggering 10 days of fighting in Kurram district. Tensions between the Sunni-majority country and the large Shiite population in the district have led to clashes despite government orders to cease hostilities.
