Dockworkers at ports from Maine to Texas went on strike over wages and automation. About 45,000 members of the International Longshoremen's Association are involved. This strike affects 36 ports and is the first by the union since 1977. If prolonged, it could disrupt the supply chain, cause shortages, and potentially impact the economy.
