Bangladesh's army chief General Waker-uz-Zaman has pledged support for the interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus to complete key reforms and hold elections within 18 months. The military aims to distance itself from politics while addressing past wrongdoings and stabilizing the country after violent protests ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
