Volkswagen and its Chinese partner SAIC plan to close at least one plant in China due to slow demand for combustion engine cars. The Nanjing plant, producing VW Passat and Skoda cars, is the first threatened with closure. Volkswagen is working with partners like Xpeng to introduce more competitive models in the market.
