China has been building villages in Tibet near its borders with India and Bhutan, and has recently held celebratory events in these new border villages to mark the takeover of Tibet. China celebrates March 28 as "democratic reform day" in Tibet, marking the end of the rule of the Dalai Lama and the establishment of Chinese control over Tibet in 1951.
