By Economic Times - 10 months ago
The Maldives Opposition party, the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has gathered signatures to submit a motion to impeach President Mohamed Muizzu following clashes in Parliament over differences regarding the approval of cabinet members. The MDP, in partnership with another opposition party, The Democrats, has enough signatures for an impeachment motion. The move comes as tensions rise in the Maldives ahead of parliamentary elections on March 17.
