WACR climbs to 6.69% amid banking system liquidity deficit

By Economic Times - 2 months ago
The weighted average call rate, reflecting banks' overnight borrowing costs, rose to 6.69%, surpassing the Reserve Bank of India's repo rate of 6.50%. This increase is due to deficit liquidity conditions caused by advance tax payments and GST outflows. The RBI conducted short-term variable rate repo auctions to ease liquidity pressures.
