In its 2021-22 report, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) highlighted that the central government successfully returned to fiscal consolidation and improved debt sustainability post-pandemic. However, the CAG noted "deficiencies in disclosures" regarding sovereign guarantees for state-run firms' loans and off-budget borrowings.
