Global anti-money laundering watchdog FATF calls on India to boost bank scrutiny for politicians: Sources

The Financial Action Task Force has recommended that India tighten bank account monitoring for local politicians and their families to prevent potential corruption. This is part of an ongoing review of India's anti-money laundering systems. India has already implemented strict checks on foreign political figures' accounts and now has five years to adopt these new guidelines.
