Over 98% of Rs 2,000 notes back with RBI: MoS for finance

By Economic Times - 18 hours ago
Most Rs 2,000 notes are back. The Reserve Bank of India received nearly all withdrawn notes. The deadline for depositing or exchanging these notes passed in October. The notes were introduced after demonetization in 2016. The central bank aimed for quick remonetization. The RBI continues to accept the notes at its offices. The move promotes a 'clean money' policy.
