Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, speaking at SBI's Mumbai main branch centenary, announced the bank will open 500 new branches in FY 2025. Sitharaman praised SBI's growth, highlighting its digital reach with over 8 crore mobile app users and the ability to handle 20 crore UPI transactions daily.
