India expanded its mandatory gold hallmarking program to 18 more districts, bringing the total to 361. Since launching in June 2021, over 40 crore gold jewelry pieces have been hallmarked, boosting consumer trust. The program has also led to a surge in registered jewelers and assaying centers.
