The European Investment Bank has approved a €300 million loan for Bengaluru's new suburban railway network. The project covers four rail corridors spanning 149 km with 58 stations and two depots. Once completed, it will reduce CO2 emissions by 43%. EIB has also supported metro projects in various Indian cities, making India a significant beneficiary.
