Is India putting enough money on education? A closer look at recent trends

From 2015 to 2024, India allocated 4.1 to 4.6 per cent of GDP to education, meeting international standards. Expenditure ranged between 13.5 to 17.2 per cent of public spending. India invested more in education than its neighbors, contrary to a global decline in educational investment since 2010, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.
