The civil aviation ministry announced that 601 routes and 71 airports have been made operational under the UDAN scheme in its eight years of implementation. Ensuring regional air connectivity, the scheme has helped 1.44 crore passengers travel across more than 2.8 lakh flights. The number of operational airports has doubled since 2014 and is aimed to reach 350-400 by 2047.
