Automobile retail sales in India fell by 9% in September compared to last year, primarily due to a huge buildup of passenger vehicle inventory. FADA urged OEMs to take corrective measures ahead of the festive season. Despite positive sentiments in rural markets, high inventory levels require strong October sales to ensure a positive growth trajectory.
