I&B Ministry cancelled 883 multi system operator licences in FY24

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting cancelled 883 MSO licences in FY24 due to non-compliance, reducing the total to 880. Despite this, 21 new registrations were granted. The ministry's revenue from DTH operators fell to ₹692 crore, while FM radio and CBFC saw slight increases. Overall government receipts declined.
