Matchmaker turns suitor: Nomura joins three-way race for homegrown investment bank Avendus

Nomura, Japan's largest investment bank, has entered the race to acquire Avendus, a KKR portfolio company. Previously acting as an advisor on the deal, Nomura has now become a potential buyer. Other contenders include Mizuho and Carlyle. KKR is seeking a valuation of Rs 5,500-6,000 crore for its stake in Avendus.
