Bharti Airtel is shutting down its music streaming service Wynk Music after a decade. Over 100 million Wynk users will initially receive a free trial of Apple Music, transitioning to paid subscriptions if they choose. This strategic move allows Airtel to exit a challenging market and provides Apple with a substantial new user base in India. The partnership also includes future exclusive access to Apple Music and Apple TV+ for Airtel customers. Wynk, generating ₹250-₹300 crore annually, will be phased out, and its employees will be absorbed into Airtel.
