Railway Board to amend level crossing norms, station masters' body opposes move

The Railway Board has directed its zones to identify non-interlocked level crossing gates that can remain open to road traffic at all times. Currently, these gates are closed except when vehicles need to pass and no train is approaching. The All India Station Masters' Association has opposed the move, citing safety concerns.
