With 48,000 employees in India and 25% new hires being married women, the company focused on greater opportunities beyond assembly work. A women-only residential complex was opened in Sriperumbudur to accommodate 18,000 workers. Foxconn also planned to establish a significant mobile manufacturing plant in Karnataka, creating 40,000 jobs. Talks with Tamil Nadu were ongoing to set up a battery energy storage unit for electric vehicles, highlighting Foxconn's expansion into key industries.
