Karnataka's government instructed its departments and public sector units to halt transactions with SBI and PNB due to unresolved fixed deposit issues. Despite multiple negotiations, these banks did not redeem the deposits. The Finance department ordered immediate account closures, citing audit authorities' and public accounts committees' remarks on the issue.
