The government has directed state-run banks to help regional rural banks (RRBs) upgrade their technology and join the National Payment Corporation of India's (NPCI) BASE platform to enhance the direct benefit transfer (DBT) program. This move follows a ransomware attack on C-Edge Technologies, a key service provider for cooperative and RRBs, which disrupted services for over 200 banks.
