Senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari assumed office as Minister of Road Transport and Highways, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for reassigning him in Modi's third term. Known as the "Highway Man of India," Gadkari has overseen the construction of over 54,858 km of national highways in the past decade.
