Saturday's announcement comes amid uproar from students and the country's political opposition alleging irregularities in the evaluation process. Pradeep Kumar Joshi, the NTA's Chairperson received a letter from the Indian Medical Association requesting a re-examination "to ensure a fair and transparent evaluation process for all the students." The IMA also demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged irregularities.
