The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has rejected a proposal from telecom firms to offer refunds for part or full payments in case of spectrum surrender. The demand was raised during the notice inviting application (NIA) for the upcoming spectrum auction, which starts on June 6. The DoT has not mentioned the names of the firms, and the NIA provides an option to surrender spectrum acquired in the auction after 10 years.
