India achieved a historic milestone, surpassing 1 billion tonnes of coal and lignite production in FY23-24, compared to 937 MT in the previous fiscal. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi credited PM Modi's leadership for this achievement, ensuring energy security and reducing coal imports. The country aims to eliminate coal imports by 2025-26.
