By Economic Times - 8 months ago
Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is experiencing delays of up to 2 hours in flight operations due to issues with its air traffic radar automation system. The system faced downtime from 3 pm to 5:15 pm, causing a backlog of departing aircraft. The outdated radar system has been plagued by glitches and malfunctions, prompting calls for comprehensive upgrades to ensure efficient and safe air traffic management. In other news, Mumbai Airport Customs seized over 3.70 kilograms of gold worth Rs 1.97 crore in nine separate cases.
