Air India pilots' unions flag concerns over duty timings; allege airline's approach will compromise safety

By Economic Times - 10 months ago
Air India pilots' groups allege that the airline management is intimidating and coercing some members to extend flight duty timings beyond prescribed limits. The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) and Indian Pilots' Guild (IPG) have written a joint letter to Air India's Managing Director and CEO, Campbell Wilson, flagging these issues. The unions claim that the airline's approach to extending the Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) for pilots compromises safety and violates regulations.
