Navi Mumbai airport's first phase to be operational by March-end next year: Scindia
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that the Navi Mumbai international airport, a crucial national infrastructure project, is expected to be commercially operational by March 2025. The airport, progressing at 55-60%, will feature multimodal connectivity, including road, rail, and metro, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's Gati Shakti Yojana. With plans for water connectivity in the future, the airport aims to become the country's first green airport, boasting automated passenger movement over its expansive 1600 hectares. The government envisions doubling domestic air passenger traffic to 30 crore by 2030 and creating over 200 airports in six years.
