RHU building turned over to LGU

STA. CRUZ, Zambales: In a bid to improve the health care service in this northernmost town of Zambales, the newly rehabilitated rural health unit (RHU) building was officially turned over to the local government unit (LGU) on Thursday, February 8.

The turnover ceremony was graced by Zambales 2nd District Rep. Doris "Nanay Bing" Maniquiz, Sta. Cruz Mayor Consolacion Marty, Provincial Health Officer Noel Bueno and representatives from the Department of Health (DoH) and BDO Foundation.

In her speech, the mayor highlighted the substantial progress made by the local government in terms of health care services. She also recognized the pivotal role played by the BDO Foundation in collaborating with local officials for the improvement of the RHU.

Maniquiz, on the other hand, emphasized on the project's importance in the enhancement of health care provisions for the residents of Sta. Cruz.

The lawmaker also said the RHU will provide vital services to the community, especially during emergencies.

Marty also expressed deep gratitude to the BDO Foundation for its unwavering support to the local government of Sta. Cruz, as well as to Maniquiz for her invaluable assistance in advancing and enriching medical services in the municipality.

The event was also attended by Sta. Cruz Vice Mayor Miguel Maniago Jr., provincial board members, personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the provincial health office, the municipal health office and representatives from the DoH.
