Pak Supreme Court dismisses plea seeking annulment of Feb 8 general elections over allegations of rigging

Pakistan's Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking new elections over alleged irregularities in the February 8 polls as a "publicity stunt" and imposed a fine on the petitioner, a former army officer. The petitioner, retired Brigadier Ali Khan, urged the court to order new elections within 30 days to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability. However, the petitioner failed to attend two consecutive hearings and was fined Pakistani Rs 500,000.
