Amid ongoing suspense over the Maharashtra Chief Minister's post, a key meeting of the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance to finalize a power-sharing pact was cancelled on Friday. This meeting was initially planned in Mumbai after a discussion in Delhi on Thursday night between Maharashtra's outgoing Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Leaders of the alliance indicated that a new government could be in place by December 2.
