The Government e-Market (GeM) portal has seen a significant surge in procurement, surpassing Rs 1.24 lakh crore in the first quarter of 2024-25. GeM aims to become the world's largest platform by the end of the fiscal year, offering a wide array of goods and services to government buyers and sellers. GeM CEO Prashant Kumar Singh highlighted the platform's growth and initiatives, including the introduction of 'GeM SAHAYAK' program to support sellers and buyers, reduced transaction charges, and the addition of 'The Aabhar Collection' for showcasing local products.
