Coal India Ltd announced that central trade unions have organized a one-day strike scheduled for February 16 at the company and its subsidiaries. CIL, a state-owned entity, constitutes more than 80 percent of the country's domestic coal production. The company, in a regulatory filing, stated that while the trade unions have called for the strike, they did not provide the reason behind the proposed action.
