Manila court rejects NOW’s bid to stop 3rd telco player selection

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) won an early round in a legal battle initiated by an aspiring telco player that wanted changes to the government’s selection rules.

This came as the Manila Regional Trial Court on Friday denied NOW Telecom’s petition for a temporary restraining order (TRO), saying the company failed to prove its rights were violated as there was no urgency to issue a TRO.
